Pain Initiative, Inc. Susan Trone, Executive Director Delaware Technology Park Delaware Pain Initiative is the only statewide non-profit organization in Delaware whose sole mission is to provide information and education regarding optimal pain relief directly to patients, families, and healthcare providers. Pain is a national epidemic in the United States with one out of every three persons suffering from pain on a regular basis. Delaware Pain Initiative’s role in the community is to educate
healthcare providers and the lay public about the importance of
pain management and the consequences of unrelieved pain through
educational programs, seminars, individual referrals and the DPI
web site. The organization provides educational materials and maintains
a database of resources for both care providers and patients and
their families. Delaware Pain Initiative also reviews and monitors
the regulatory and legislative issues that may be barriers to effective
pain management, and empowers persons to be proactive in their quest
for pain relief. |
